Intern, Event Management & Camp Operations - Showcase Events: 2025-3440


The Position:

The Intern of Event Management and Camp Operations works primarily on-site at all Showcase division camps that include both Headfirst Showcase Baseball and Headfirst Showcase Softball camps. The Intern will contribute to the operational execution of all programs operated by Headfirst Showcase camps, including on-site support, equipment and material preparation, camp set-up and break-down, logistics coordination, and inventory tracking. The successful candidate will have a focus on creating best-in-class camp and event management operations. 

 

Headfirst Showcase Camps are based in Washington, DC. This role is open to both local and remote candidates, with the expectation to travel to and be present at all camp events. 


What You'll Do:

  • Travel with the Headfirst Showcase division to all baseball and softball events throughout the duration of the summer that include locations across the U.S., including Southern California, Washington, D.C., Long Island, N.Y., and Chicago, Ill.
  • Lead the seasonal operations staff team to execute camp operations including the coordination of coach, staff, player, and equipment movement.
  • Assist Showcase division leadership with opening and closing camp, which includes all mobilization and de-mobilization functions both in days leading up to camp, as well as after the camp ends.
  • Communicate with vendors and other camp partners during camp operations, including overseeing and receiving deliveries, coordinating with facility partners, and managing staff schedules in the time leading up to camp.
  • Support in customer experience and/or contribute to the camp's social media presence on-site on an as requested basis, leveraging your creativity, communication skills, and ability to engage with diverse audiences to enhance the overall camp experience.
  • Complete additional tasks and special projects as requested by the leadership team of the Headfirst Companies. 


About You:

You Have 

  • Completed at least two (2) years at an accredited undergraduate institution. 
  • Majors in Event Management, Business, Sports Management, or other related fields viewed favorably. 
  • Experience working in operations, logistics, event management, or other related experience. 
  • A valid drivers license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate mid-size U-Haul trucks. 
  • Ability to work a variable schedule in-season that includes select multi-day stretches and weekends (scheduled in advance).
  • Must be able to:  
    • Remain upright and stand for multiple hours at a time, walk and/or run quickly around large outdoor grass and dirt-covered fields, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of sports equipment, signage, and coolers. 
    • Work in hot and outdoor environments while actively engaging with event participants and facility partners for extended periods of time. 
    • Respond quickly to sounds in a loud, busy outdoor environment and frequently use hand-eye coordination.
